The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes 2 to 3 hours, unless another procedure (such as adding implants) is being done as well.
Most breast lift patients need about a week of recovery. During this time, you will wear a surgical bra to help with swelling and healing. (After wearing the surgical bra for one week, you’ll need to wear a support bra for several weeks.) It’s critical during your recovery that there is no pressure applied to your chest. You can expect some bruising, swelling, and soreness for about two weeks. Dr. Hazen will let you know when exercise may be resumed. You will have a follow-up appointment a week after your visit. Results can be seen a few weeks after the procedure, with final results becoming apparent about six months after your surgery.
